Hard Mode Overview

Hard Mode in Arms of God unlocks after beating the game on Normal difficulty. Unlike NG+, Hard Mode applies global difficulty modifiers that fundamentally change how you play.

Unlock Requirements

  • Beat Divine Engine Omega on Normal difficulty
  • Character must be level 15+
  • Must have at least 10 achievements unlocked

Exclusive Rewards

Legendary Blessings (Hard Mode only):

  • Titan's Endurance: +100% max HP, -20% movement speed
  • Void Walker: Teleport on dodge roll (0.5 second cooldown)
  • Blood Price: All damage increased by 50%, but you take 25% of damage as HP loss (cannot be blocked)

Cosmetics:

  • Infernal Paladin skin (beat Act 1 Hard without dying)
  • Void Assassin skin (complete Hard Mode entirely)
  • Omega's Core title

Weapons:

  • Chaos Bringer (legendary axe, Hard Mode exclusive)
  • Eternal Frost (legendary staff, complete Hard Mode without using any healing items)

Best Builds for Hard Mode

Survival build (recommended first clear):

  • Paladin class
  • Guardian's Shield + Blood Stone merge
  • Stack: Guardian Angel, Frost Armor, Iron Skin blessings
  • Weapon: +5 by Act 3 minimum

This build's survivability gives you room to learn the new enemy patterns. Clear speed is slow but consistent.

Speed clear (experienced):

  • Mage class
  • Stormcaller's Staff + Frost Amulet
  • Stack: Glass Cannon, Executioner, Mana Surge
  • Requires perfect play — one mistake and permadeath triggers

Act-by-Act Tips

Act 1 Hard: The difficulty spike is steepest here because you have no gear. Play extremely safe. Clear every optional zone for XP. Don't rush.

Act 2 Hard: Farm the Garrison elites for gold. You need Cathedral upgrades ASAP. Buy every cheap blessing.

Act 3 Hard: Archon of Storms is the run-ender for most players. Get 50%+ lightning resistance before attempting.

Act 4 Hard: Full build check before Omega. If your DPS isn't enough to clear phase 4 in 60 seconds, you will die.
